Healthy Living...
Forget the terms good food, bad food, things are only bad if they are eaten out of balance. If you ate an excess of cabbage and grapefruit it wouldn’t be healthy, pleasurable or even particularly sociable but most people don’t have a problem excessing on fruit and veg. What we appear to love is high calorie, fatty, sugary, salty food. In fact all the stuff we can’t resist is usually in excess, bad for our health yet we still find it beyond temptation. There is a very good reason for this illogical craving but we need to go back to caveman times. Click here to find out more on healthy eating
Get energy get active
Although nutrition is an important part of good health as with everything body related, there is always a combination of factors involved. I hate to use the word exercise as some repetitive, tiresome routine springs to mind. Being active means doing something that inspires you to be on the move. Your body was designed to be busy and it will send out negative signs if you have been sat about for too long. You could feel dissatisfied, tired, miserable, frustrated, irritable and although the motivation may be hard, after a brisk walk or a tumble with the kids more positive feelings flood back. Being active also makes you feel happier, releasing wonderful feel good endorphins that range from mildly pleasing to fantastically wow generating future motivation to get up and go.

Stress – live with it!
Keeping both physically and mentally challenged and stimulated keeps you feeling fitter and stronger and this makes you more able to cope with life’s constant challenges. We need to keep both our body and brain fit and this involves challenging ourselves, taking risks and putting ourselves under pressure. The satisfaction comes with the ultimate achievement or ongoing reward but unfortunately things don’t always go to plan. A set back, negative result or taking too much on, makes it hard to maintain and attain, overloading you with anxiety and pressure ultimately generating negative stress. There is a lot of misunderstanding about stress and the first mistake is to imagine a life stress free. Stress is a natural part of living and we have a very good inbuilt stress response that is designed to cope with it. Unfortunately this is also influenced by what you eat and how fit you are.
